As Co-president of Common Origins Dance, I created the brand and oversaw marketing for our annual dance show. Second year post-COVID, our challenge was to gain traction for a huge gathering and a brand new artistic vision from our last show.

Last year’s artistic theme, emotionally healing from COVID, led me to reflect that Stanford students now want fun and excitement after quarantine. I thus came up with our theme: Hot Girl Horror, combining sexy and scary.

I worked cross-functionally to create our marketing campaign, writing newsletters, social media and poster copy, a special edition branding storyline email, and oversaw rebranding for our website and logo. Our tickets sold out under three minutes. Our live stream hit 3k+ views. Our show was highlighted in a Stanford Daily review.

Hot Girl Horror Storyline:

For this special newsletter, one week before the show, I needed to get excitement up for both our internal dance team and our audience (a separate email with the storyline copy was sent out). For which, I wrote a part-ironic, part-serious email copy that chronologically combines the song order into an immersive and engaging storyline.
